Intense straw yellow, the nose has hints of linden and the palate is full flavoured, whilst remaining light and refreshing, with minerality and a touch of almond on the finish.
Enjoy with fish hors d’oeuvre, soups and pasta with fish and shell fish.
The Bricco dei Guazzi Estate is located in Piedmont, near the town of Olivola (Province of Alessandria), in the “Monferrato Casalese” DOC. The property is at the top of a “bricco” (hill in the local dialect) and is surrounded by 100-year old cedar trees. These hills are light in colour due to the calcareous and marly soil. Truffles are very common in the area, which receives hot temperatures and limited rainfall.
The estate has 50 hectares (125 acres) of land, 30 (75) of which are dedicated to vineyards. The Villa and its cellar were completely renovated in 2004. Many new plantings of selected clones were carried out in the vineyards, using a high concentration of plants in order to create a new-style Barbera.
